The East Surrey Museum has always been popular with children. It has a Junior Room devoted to their entertainment and (hopefully) their education, with hands on activities for all ages and links to the National Curriculum. During school holidays we also hold regular 'activity days' for children of up to about age eleven. These are held in the museum and include crafts, clay modelling, and other things. Although organised by museum volunteers, children must also be accompanied at all times by a responsible adult. These activities are free, but donations are always appreciated to cover costs.
There are visits to schools and community groups. Loan boxes and a handling collection are available.
Opportunities for volunteering
At the museum we are always pleased to see work experience pupils and those on the Duke of Edinburgh's Award scheme. There are also opportunities for individual volunteers. For further details please contact the museum.
